At a Tenacious D concert, Jack Black announced his new "legendary collab" with singer/songwriter Jack White. Black and his fellow band member, Kyle Gass, visited White's home in Nashville, Tenessee to record their new single. The three stars worked together as a new musical entity: Jack Grey.

Since the early 2000s, fans have joked about this collaboration. In 2006, White met Black during the MTV Music Video Awards, although this interaction never led anywhere.

In June of 2019, Tenacious D posted a picture with Jack White on their Instagram and captioned it, "We hired a new merch guy." Both bands were on tour at the time, so fans speculated that a collaboration might ensue. Their prayers have now been answered.

While Black wasn't able to film their band practice, he reported that White's house was epic. "His house is crazy; I've never seen so many cool antique toys," he reported. "It's what you would expect: Jack White's house is gonna be off the chain.

"I think our song is kickin' chicken too," Black added. "It's a stone-cold jam."

Black did film his tour of White's label, Third Man Records headquarters, which he posted on his YouTube channel, JablinskiGames. Black described the space as part recording studio, part museum, and part art gallery.

As of yet, there's no word on when the song will drop.
