Mystical. Aggresive. Original. Few words that described Led Zeppelin's musical style and performance. Led Zeppelin is no doubt the greatest rock band of all time according to numerous awards and critics. Led Zeppelin originated out of Europe (like all great rock bands) and formed in England. The orginal line up was Robert Plant (lead vocals and harmonica), Jimmy Page (lead guitar and mandalin), John Paul Jones (bass guitar and keyboard), and John Bonham (drums and percussion). Each member of the band was extremely gifted at each of their specific parts. For example no one can match Robert Plant's voice. Its just not possible. Jimmy Page is one of the greatest guitarests ever who is often compared to guitarests such as Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. John Paul Jones was undoubtly one of the most original keyboardest and bass guitarests of all time as well. And John Bonham is by far the greatest drummer of all time. Not just by my standards but by most all drummers. Even though often compared to Neil Pert of Rush most drummers still perfer John Bonham's untamed attack on the drums and his swinging feel for the groove. Sadly though he died in 1980 of asphyxiation as a result of heavy drinking the day before. Right before what would have been Led Zeppelin's 2nd U.S. tour. This event also pretty much marked the end of Led Zeppelin as well because as a result of John Bonham's death the band had to try and replace him but no one could meet up the John Bonham's standards so the band called it quites and that was the end of Led Zeppelin.
