A band born of passion is a common story. ZENE is a band with more than passion, they have heart. A group brought together by God to spread a form of rock glorifying His name. It is more than music to bang your head with, it is music to pull your heart into your eyes as you look to God. Music speaks to our souls and this is a band that not only speaks to your soul but to your heart.
ZENE is a Christian rock band from small town; Carroll, Iowa. This group is comprised of Zene Smith (guitar, vocal), Jeremiah Randleman (bass), and Josh Hoyt (drums). This band lets people see that Christian music can rock and that it is not only hymns, like some people believe.

What is up ZENE lovers and haters alike? Just a little update for you. First off, as you can see we've got some different songs up from Live At The Studio. We've also got some new pictures up. And we are gearing up to do some recording this weekend on a rough draft of our NEW DEMO! The new demo will consist of 6 songs, all new originals! We will be recording, "The Answer", "Home", "Rain Down", "Through It All", "Another Monday Mourning", and "Guitly Pleasure." We are also looking at a indie label or two to sign with pretty soon. So, keep your ears to the underground, and we'll see you soon!

Hello all! Zene here. Just wanted to let you know that we've got a rough draft of our new song "The Answer" up on our myspace account ( www.myspace.com/zenerock ). We were going to put it up on this site too (hince the 2 instead of 3 songs), but Purevolume is being dumb and won't let us upload. So hop on over to Myspace and check out the new stuff. If you're not already there, you should be!

It's official...ZENE IS ON MYSPACE!!!! As a result of having 2 websites, the myspace site ( www.myspace.com/zenerock ) will feature different songs than this one. To all of you purevolume fans, the new site will now be the OFFICIAL ZENE SITE, and will be updated first. If you have a myspace account, add me! If not, I seriously reccomend one, its awesome.

Its a cover of an Avalon song. Now i know what you are thinking, "Avalon dosen't ROCK!?" And that is exactly why i had to make them. The song is actually a duet that i do with my niece, the up and coming Ashley Smith. Its a track off of a project i helped my oldest brother, Paul with called, "It Still Matters". You can't download it due to copyright laws, but if you want a copy just talk to me.

Ok, so this is an actual blog, NOT A RE-POST!!! I know what you're all thinking... "OH NO!! HE'S STARTED DOING CRACK!!!" Well I can safely assure you that you are wrong and , i might add, an idiot for thinking such a thing! But no worries, mate. I still love ya (and that goes septuple for that hot seriphim girl!! ; )
And just to assure you that this IS and actual rockstar blog, it is exactly 1:25 and all i see is infomercials!
Well on the upside of things, i have just wrote (or is it "written"?) two "new" songs. The reason i say "new" and not just new is because one of them is actually a re-written piano version of a song i already wrote (which pretty much only one person has heard so both versions are still technically new) called "Goodnight" . However, the second one is called "The Underdog" (no it is nothing like Audio A's "Underdog"...or is it?), and rumor has it that it has something to do with HALO!!!!
I guess that is all for now (sorry, i'm working on that whole "anti-interesting / anti-rockstar" life that i lead -- my theripist says i'm making great progress, though!) Keep rockin', and keep liking me!!
