We're gonna make your day today, because we're here to say that Wreckyard ain't dead.
On the contrary, we're alive and kicking. We know it's been pretty damn quiet around us for a while..no news, no shows, no nothing. But that's only due to the great amount of time that we've been spending on preparing ourselves for our debut full-length! Yep, you heard it first! We're recording a record!
We decided to, once again, hire our dear friend Tim van Doorn (of Clueless fame) as a producer. He's making sure that the twelve songs featured on the record are gonna be the best ones you'll ever hear. But not without his partner in crimeBram Dewachter.
This guy obviously needs an introduction.
Bram Dewachter will take care of most of the engineering but he will be co-producing the record as well. And what a rad individual he is.
Just a plain nice guy that's all about recording. Preferably with the use of Neve soundboards , classis tube amps and vintage guitarsthat's always good to hear. He really knows a lot about stuff that's still abracadabra to us so we can't go wrong with this guy..
Anyways, we started recording two weeks ago at a place called the Excess Studios in Rotterdam. Face Tomorrow and The Apers are bands that, among others, also recorded there. So far, we recorded drums, bass and Ken's rhythm guitar tracks over there.
As we speak Tim is editing the recorded rhythm tracks and after he's done we will start recording Mullit's rhythm tracks, lead guitar after that and finally the vocals. It's all pretty damn exciting and we can't wait to hear the final cut. Unfortunately that's gonna take a little while for you guys, because the record wil be released around February.
We will however give you guys a sneak peak as soon as the mixing and mastering is done to make sure all you guys can sing along to these fine tunes at the release show.
Ok dear friends, that's all for now. Enjoy the first part of an already Grammy nominated series of great great studio footage
Keep an eye out for some new studio footage, pictures and update posts soon! It'll be good, we promise.
