An ever so slightly sinister brand of rock that has been missing from the Glasgow scene for some time - imagine a cross between Mansun and Muse" - Dicelines Promotions
Formed in January 2007 by former members of the now defunkt Glasgow "Space Rock" band StandbY, songwriter and lead guitarist Bobby Currie and drummer Will Welch, Would Be kings are a new band in their own right. Although they are holding on to some of the more pop/rock songs and ethics from the previous venture, Would Be Kings have put their own twist and are stamping their own brand onto them.
Would Be Kings are a solid 5 piece modern alt rock band, balancing all of their combined influences carefully to produce what you hear today!
