Jeff Turzo & Matt Mahaffey.... you have definitely heard both of these gentlemen rock you separately over the years. Don't believe me? Google them. Jeff (God Lives Underwater) & Matt (sElf) met after their videos aired on MTV's 120 Minutes, with improper crediting on both accounts. "They said that we were "God Lives" & that they were "sElf", says Mahaffey. "Story of our lives...", says Turzo. Also, with the unexpected deaths of both Turzo's counter-part in G.L.U., David Reilly & Mahaffey's brother & writing partner, Mike Mahaffey, last year, the collaboration seems all the more destined & eminent. Wired All Wrong was initially Turzo's baby.

"The idea was to have a different vocalist on each song, to be a collection of styles all thrown together over the common ground of my tracks" says Turzo. "Jeff & i were social, i knew about the project, but he never asked me to give something a shot, probably due to the fact that i had a record coming out with sElf & was really trying hard to get it into people's hands at the time" says Matt. "Well, after the collapse of Dreamworks Records(sElf's record label at the time) into Universal, i approached him. He gave me a c.d. of about ten instrumentals, i chose one, & returned with a song called "Let Me Go"." A dozen songs later, Jeff has yet to return to his original plan.

Now, crafting beats in his home studio & uploading them to Mahaffey's studio for vocals & additional production, the boys have still yet to work in the same room together. Which is not to say that they can't. In Addition to "Break Out The Battletapes", August 2006 will also see Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, the 1st full-length from Hellogoodbye & the first outside production for Wired All Wrong, yes, working in the same room together. I encourage you to find any other artists on the map that share Wired All Wrong's dedication to their craft. Sure, bands record & re-record their songs, & slave over their production, but do they literally build custom studio gear to do it? Nope.... Jeff Turzo does. Do bands give away free music on the internet? Sure they do, one or two songs, tops.... Matt Mahaffey has given away more free music on the internet than any other songwriter to date. Together, Matt & Jeff as Wired All Wrong are doper, in all facets, than any other fools you will ever come across. This is science fucking fact. sincerely, Johnny Fascination

Hey Matt, I've been a huge fan ever since the days of sElf. You and Jeff have created an amazing album. Keep up the great work, and by the way, "the second album is late. Where is it anyway?" (PS- Speaking of that, it would be pretty cool to hear WAW do a "pumped up" version of Sophomore Jinx. Just a thought.) Aug 11
