Over the past couple years, the members of Willow Street have played with one another in other bands at some point in time before, but never all together. Until finally towards the end of July of 2005, with a common goal of playing for the love of rocking out with no pressures, standards, or holdbacks, Willow Street was born.
Deciding together that music should be played for one purpose, band members Scott and Chris Harrison, and Alaska (who played together in a previous rock/post band) decided to create something new with lead guitarist Keeton Thach. While still young, Willow Street is in the process of finding its sound. Once the music began to take form, the group then had Dexter Phillips step in as lead singer, deciding to see where the music will go with the addition.
Named for the street on which they usually practice, Willow Street finds its different styles deriving from all kinds of influences such as Finch, Blink-182, Thrice, Underoath, and many others.
Thus far, the band has come a long way from nothing in a short amount of time with little to work with. Willow Street is led on guitar by Keeton Thach and Chris Harrison, vocals by Dexter Phillips, bass by Scott Harrison, and drums by David McRorie (a.k.a. Alaska).
