I dont update this purvolume
This is an exerpt from the DeWitt High School "High Times"
Sophmores rock it up this year as a group of their peers create their own live band. Actually Whatever has been in existence for a while now. Members of the worship and praise band are Sophomores Jeremy Prine(Lead singer/guitar) Alex Humphries( Bass/Back up vocals) Zach Bussey ( keyboard/back up vocals)Josh Rousseau ( lead guitar) and Freshman Brett Cummings(drums). This group has been leading worship and performing for a little over a year. They began playing worship songs such as "Trading My Sorrows" "Big House" or the "Happy Song". Prine has penned some original songs such as "While These Things Go On". Humphries has written songs such as"Three Minutes Fast" and Prine and Humphries together has written some. Rousseau has written some such as "Blessed Be They Name".
In a recent interview, Prine was asked how long he had been singing. " I consider my start at singing last year at the school talent show". "Ever since then I have been singing so it has been a little over a year...I listen to alot of Christian rock, my favorite being Relient k, so i find myself singing songs like that". Whatever plays at revivals, youth retreats, and meetings and other various funtions other than those at DeWitt High School. The name Whatever came from the Bible verse Philippians 4:8 which begins with the statement" Whatever things are true, Whatever things are honest..." ends with " think upon such things"
Each member of Whatever has his own idea about the importance of their music and what they do as a whole. " One thing that is very important to me while I'm in Whatever is our ability as a band to go out and share Jesus with everyone that we come into contact with" say Bussey. Humphries states that the most important thing about Whatever is the fact that they are just a group of guys that are making a difference by doing what they love - Praising the Lord. Rousseau says the most important thing is that " we can use our talents for the worship of God" . Cummings says that they are a band for God and we do it 100% for Him.
Whatever has recently recorded two origiansl songs that have been placed on their website-www.myspace.com/whateverp48 - The band hopes to get a few more songs worked up so that they can make a larger CD. They also have tentative plans to play at church camps, youth retreats, and revivals in the future. It might bot be too long before students at DHS can say, "We knew them!!!"
