Warhawk was started in a basement in York, PA. John Savel played drums and his brother Michael played guitar. Looking for band members, they found guitarist Nick Horan. There first appearance was at Dallastown High School at the Battle of the Bands as Bonestorm. The set consisted of a butchered "Eruption" guitar solo, a trainwreck of Slayer covers and to top it off the National Anthem that made Francis Scott Key turn in his grave. Although it was fun the young musicians realized what they needed was a bass player and lots of practice. Over the next few months the first two Bonestorm songs were spawned: Born to Kill written by Michael Savel and Metal Messiah written by Nick Horan.

Meanwhile a bass player looking to fulfill his need to be in a metal band entered a guitar competition to get the attention of a "future band". His name was Andrew Harris and as luck would have it the trio Bonestorm showed up to the competition. It took place at a music shop in Shrewsberry and was crowded with show offs and egotistical assholes. John's Iron Maiden shirt caught the attention of Andrew. So they talked about heavy metal and they found that their interests were very similar. Not even mentioning that Andrew played bass, he picked up the most metal looking bass in the store and started playing "Anesthesia". John, Michael and Nick noticed and immediately knew that they wanted Andrew to play bass for them. After the addition of their bass player and a name change: DFA was born!

A year passed since their god aweful debut and the quartet was ready to try again. They did not win the competition but they won the crowd over. Nick was eventually persuaded to sing for the band which was the final step to their lineup.

On January 6th of 2005 DFA played their first real show and was Nicks debut on vocals. Other than "Born to Kill" being a trainwreck the show was a sucess in recruiting metalheads. "For Whom the Bell Tolls" was the crowd pleaser and "Metal Messiah into "The Trooper" was the grand finale. The band realized they had something special that they were doing and they began writing more and more for all the truest of metalheads across the land.

In the summer of 2005, Michael Savel decided to leave the band to start a metal band called Requiem. Their music consists of more melodic yet thrashy riffs. So, with DFA down one member they immediatley started thinking about a replacement. A few weeks went by and Andrew Harris heard through a friend about some kid who had been playing guitar for about two years and his favorite band was Slayer. The guitarist was interested in joining the band and was told to learn a few covers to be tryed out. His name was Eric Provenza and the audition went perfect. The three knew that Eric was a key element in their journey to creating some of the heaviest music that would ever ride the air of York, PA.

After Eric joined the band, DFA became Warhawk. Eric's first contribution to Warhawk's music was the chorus riff to "On the Loose". They all continued making their contributions to the music they love and sharing it with anyone and everyone.

Eric made his debut at G & M Music in More in Shrewsbury. Once again the metal messiahs were successful in recruiting metalheads. They have been playing shows and writing music ever since which brings us up to now - We are WARHAWK: A true heavy metal unit, from the trenches of York, PA. Poised to slaughter all who oppose the metal onslaught and continue forever in our endeavor to persevere.

- Andrew, Nick, Eric, and John
