Vilarika was formed in 2004, in a town called Valley Stream. The idea came when a group of friends had to do a music project for a respect life contest (which they won). This group of friends consisted of Michael Villarica, Matthew Lazo, Chris Chin, Joey McCabe, and Anthony Viray. The band formed when Mike V and Matt started jamming to AC/DC and Guns N' Roses tunes. They picked up key boardist Joey McCabe and wrote a couple songs under the name Yellow Skittles. They played two shows including their elementary school graduation dance. In 2007 they dropped Joey McCabe and recruited Bassist/Singer Marc Remache. They perfomed a couple of minor shows with this line- up. They decided they needed another guitarist, so in 2009 Guitarist Chris Chin joins, forming the final line-up of Vilarika. Chris brought a lot of metal influence, listening to such bands as Metallica, and Silverchair. They made more songs with this line-up including their first song, Burn The Witch.
Now they are currently working in the studios, and playing shows. They are soon going to release their debut album.
