Well Howdy Do!!
a quick update for you guys!!! Vertical Focus hasn't had a lot going on lately, our big day up at Buena Vista was amazing- they have the greatest staff, and the whole enviorment is so family friendly! As I said, we've been pretty quiet. We havn't had many performences/ worship services this year for us to lead, so we've been taking a 'extended vacation' in a sense- aka taking a brake, until an event wants us to lead worship. =]D
It looks like that will be 30 Hour famine, but that's pending- : more on that as it becomes known!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there a comeback for this worship band? There could be!! call 652-3848 or 839-3175 for booking. we are really cheap, sometimes free! We would love to play at your church! give us a call!!

The original members, CJ and luke Conger, Casey and Christy Dainsberg, Tori Raddatz and Tony Tammaro, were a great group of people. Sadly, as life went on they all had to go their separet ways.
Tony - Graduated from LaPorte highschool in '06 and started college at BSU that fall.
after the band lost Tony the brought on Luke Hallaway to try and fill the void... which was not possible.
'07 - CJ Conger and Tori Raddatz both graduated highschool. About that time the manager, Andi Brown, lost contact with everyone and the band just sort of ended...
Where Are They Now?!
CJ - Sophmore at Oak Hills Christian College in Bemidji. he is leading worship at the EFC youth group in Bemidji. he also leads at the EFC and the Covenant Church from time to time. he still remembers the good time with VF. Since then he has learned the piano and keeps getting better on the guitar. He is currently working on a worship cd/EP.
Luke C. - currently a sophmore in highschool, but soon will be a junior and will (hopefully) attend Central Lakes College PSEO. he is still playing drums and has also picked up playing the piano. He plans to be a Personal Trainer after college.
Christy - She keeps getting more and more beautiful everyday. She just graduated highschool this spring and plans to keep attending Northwest Technical College for her BA in nursing. She too is still involved with leading worship at her church and could never forget the good times with the band.
Casey - She is still the shortest one of the all the band members; however, still one of the prettiest. She, like her sister, attended NTC PSEO and graduated highschool this spring. She plans to go to BSU in the fall. She is also involved with leading worship at their church.
Tori - She will be going to the Honor Academy for another year of intense training. She still has her beautiful voice and she is the funnest member that Vertical Focus ever had!
Tony - Will be attending BSU for his third year and still is using that great voice of his.
heather felix and luke hallaway - died in a fatal car crash....

Hey Guys, and Gals!!
We just got back from a HAY (Heartland Area Youth) Purity retreat! It was a blast, we learned allot of good stuff and we had tons'a fun leading the people in worship! We played some great, creative games, ate gooooood food, and learned [most importantly] about how to keep our purity. The Fellowship with everyone was precious. We learned a variety or things, consisting of;
> How even if we've done somthing in our lives that was damaging- God still redeems us- if we ask for forgiveness/ ask Jesus into our hearts.
> Dating relationships
> How getting emotionally attached to somone could hurt you in the long run.
> Marriage, - and how God makes the marriage between him and the church perfect (an exaple to us)
> We had some time were the gals went off with the guy leaders, and the guys went off with the gal leaders - to just ask questions, and talk about why gals/guys do this, or that, or whatever.
I was able to come away with allot from the retreat, and I know allot of other people did also. I hope that if you didn't come this year, you'd consider going next year because I'm sure it will be twice as much fun as this past retreat!!
We all [Those that went to the retreat] where given a 'key' on a key-chain before we left. The Key represented the Key to our purity- and how we shouldn't give it out to anyone- anytime,- anywhere. Our Purity is somthing we should charish and save until marriage. BUT, don't forget- that God is a Redeemer, and a Savior. If you havn't kept your purity God will forgive you, He doesn't hate you! His love is Unconditional, everlasting, and Un-failing!
Along with the key, and Key-chain came a verse, and I'll end this 'blog' with it, just as a thought..
" Fire tests the purity of silver and Gold, but the Lord tests the heart.."
Proverbs 17:3
God Bless ya'll!!

Psalm 24:3-6
" Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands, and a pure heart, Who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.
He will recieve blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Savior. Such is the gereation of those who seek him, who seek your face O God of Jacob."
Psalm 24:3-6 is our Band verse, and our motto.
" Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands, and a pure heart, etc..." In this world today, none of us Are worthy enough to come before the Lord. Only because Jesus came to the earth as a Human, lived a perfect life- and Died on the cross- taking all our sins with him- are we able to come into his presence, and worship/ talk to Him.
The passage goes on to say, "He [you] will recieve blessing from the Lord and Vindication from God his [your] Savior." Vindication is, ' justification against denial of censure'. So when Jesus died on the cross and died for our sins,- through this act he was saying to us, " My Child, you are Not Guilty, I've taken your burdens, and Because you believe in me, I Bless you in the name of the Father.." Thats a pretty cool thing for God to say to us!!
Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us- so what can/ do we do? .." Such is the gereation of those who seek Him, who See you face O God of Jacob..." We as Christians, - New or Old, wether your from the Builders- Boomers- Busters- or Bridgers generations- it doesn't matter! You should always be seeking Jesus, Striving to know more about him, striving to see his face. (Matthew 7:7-9)
We, (vertical Focus) want you all to know this because this verse is important to us. - To Reach- and Teach- others how to seek God's face (in the music we play) and in our own enviorment, and are own personal lives. We encourage you, as followers of Jesus to join us in this challenge - to Seek Jesus when the times are good, and when the times are bad. There will be things in our lives that we won't understand. (James 1:2-8) Seek God's will, and he will answer you. ~:)(:~
