Versus The World was officially formed in the back of "Down
On Haley" (the old
Ataris record store) when Mike (of The Ataris) and I (Donald of fifty cents
short) started an acoustic project under the name Pencapchew. Originally started
to kind of "fill up time" between current projects, we immediately hit it off and
began making music more than just part time. But as fun as an acoustic project
can be, we felt it was a bad idea to limit ourselves to an acoustic guitar and
bar stools. We wanted to start a rock band. So when it came to looking for a
permanent drummer, Trevor (Anti-freeze) was an obvious choice. Nic (Trace
Element) and I have been friends for years and I've been wanting to play music
with him for a while. After a running through a few songs and sharinga few
cocktails we knew we had something special. so that's us "Versus The World". Four
guys from punk, pop, and metal backgrounds playing what we love...rock. Our
record is due out September 27th on Kung-Fu Records, and we'll be touring the planet
in search for new fans, rad dive bars, and well deserved hangovers. Thank you
