Valentine Bennett Peckos was born in Chicago and moved to Mchenry, IL at age one. Valentine graduated Mchenry East Campus, where he played Alto Saxophone with the Concer Band. He was sole performer on acoustic guitar for the Man of LaMancha spring musical, and took first place winner at the Mchenry East "Battle of the Bands". Valentine also won the Mchenry County College "Idol" competition, and was awarded $500.00 in cash. Valentine began his musical interests at age eight, and began studying classical piano with the Marilyn Bishoff School of Music, winning the blue ribbon and silver medal award at the North Shore Regional Sonatina Festival. Valentine fell in love with guitar after his father, Jim, showed him several "ragtime" pieces. Valentine's musical influences include classical, ragtime, folk, grunge and blues. Valentine currently is majoring in music. He enjoys song writing and performing, while pursuing his musical studies. Valentine continues to enchant locals at venues throughout Nothern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.
