There are certain twists of melody, certain rhythms, and even specific sounds that have begun to define popular modern rock music. There are tried and true formulas for writing and producing music, and there is doubtless an emerging "status quo" in rock music. That is not to say that there is no resistance to popular trends, however, many of these experimental artists sound overwhelmingly esoteric and aloof.
Enter now Vagary, a middle ground between the "indie-elite" and the casual music listener; a successful comprimise between the individuality and personal art that is music, and the realization that the art is actually produced for other people to hear and enjoy. An intelligent, catchy, and individual (yet not over the top) band of musicians making music, not a fashion statement.

Hello
to the one person who reads this (myself). If you are interested in Vagary news, here it is, I flew home to finish bass and background vocals for our new demo/EP whatever we want to call it. The record needs to be mixed and mastered and I think we might go all out and get it made with pretty booklets. We also did the basic demo's for a brand new song that might or might not surface on here in the coming weeks or months. If you have read this far I will love you more than you'll ever know.

Main vocals to all the tracks are done for the most part. There may still be some tinkering that needs to be done, but unfortunately, I've been sick since we recorded them on Friday. So... we'll see how that goes. Hopefully, I can try to get in there again on Monday. All in all, however, the tracks turned out pretty well. Special thanks to Gina Mattei on "Children" and to Derril for taking one for the team on the same track as well. Until next time, hope for the best...

Today rhythm guitar to all the tracks being sent out to various labels was completed at Lacuna. Vocals are set to be recorded on Friday and/or Saturday, as well. Also, you might notice a new track entitled "El Tornado" (so named by Ryan) on the homepage. A little something for you guys, so I hope you enjoy. We'd like to give a special thanks to Alyssa Gaul for coming in to record violin for us, also. Thank you Alyssa. Rock.
Oh, and also, our website is in the process of being made, so expect that to be up and running, hopefully, by the end of the month area. It's going to be a masterpiece thanks to our righteously awesome pal Shannon Stanton. Rock to you too, Shannon. Until next time, chillens!

So we recorded drums today at ClearCut in Garfield, NJ. It took about four hours, but the quality is better than what we get when recording back at the home base. This week we're going to be laying down rhythm guitar and possibly some vocals. Thanks to Max Caselnova at ClearCut and D&D for keeping us between the ditches.
