having been listening to too much great music, too many exciting genres and having attended too many energic shows, the five long-time friends; stuka, poh, jO, lars and jonas gathered their strength in their own set-up up in arms in the summer of 2005.
after having been quite successful in former constellations, the group did not take long time to find each other musically, and within a few months, the boys even started switching instruments as a result of pure curiosity.
the idea of letting the instruments take turns quickly established an element of playfulness to the bands already delicate and somewhat aggressive tunes.
tunes, that surely draws on inspiration from both the north-american post rock scene, the american post punk/ post hardcore scene, and the more noisy and dream pop things of the early nineties, but also creates a universe that belongs to the band itself.
a universe that, lyrically, is shaped by both surreal stories, very hard to predict, but also by the highly personal journeys into the head of eccentric lead singer, stuka.
the diversity in both words and song structure is a foundation that causes a rather schizophrenic live show.
and together with up in arms desire to entertain, with a colourful and party-esque stage set-up (expect costumes, confetti, fire!), this ensures an experience definitely worth a night out.
