Thanks!!!
Thanks to everyone who made our recent "Alive from the Apocalypse" tour such a good time. Every show was a rager, all the fans brought the ruckus and every band were great dudes and fun to party with. Thanks to the fans, Bury Your Dead, As Blood Runs Black, My Children My Bride, The Destro, all the crew for their help and hard work and thanks to everyone involved in this tour for making it happen.
This short time away from writing the next album gave us the platform to go out and have fun playing on tour again, support our new DVD and give a little taste of some new material to the fans. We are fired up as all hell and looking forward to finishing up writing this next album and getting it out there for all to hear by October. Without going into too much detail about the new tunes, it is harder hitting with more groove than any previous Unearth material. If you were in the crowd at one of our shows on this last tour, you got a glimpse of what to expect. Working with Derek Kerswill as our drummer for this album has given us the chance to let the songs grow as they should, the parts build up how they should and have the tunes hit as hard as they should. We are beyond amped about the new stuff and we look forward to giving everyone some new tunes to thrash to real fucking soon.
till next time...

Our last two mini tours in South America and Mexico were beyond amazing. The passion of the fans was something that blew all of us away. The energy in the crowd was unreal and the shows we were lucky enough to not have a barricade made for stage dive central. We will 100% be back to both places in the near future. Sorry it took so fucking long in the first place.

Details for "Alive From The Apocalypse" announced!!!
Massachusetts metal heavyweights Unearth are releasing their first ever DVD titled Alive from the Apocalypse on March 18th, 2008. Building on the momentum generated by back to back 200,000-plus World wide sellers, The Oncoming Storm and III: In the Eyes of Fire, Unearth are set to release their career retrospective on DVD. Alive from the Apocalypse spans UNEARTHs humble beginnings to their ascension to leaders of the metal genre. Filmed at the Glasshouse in Pomona, California on October 9th, 2007 by Doug Spangenberg and his team from Space Monkey Studios (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, ALL THAT REMAINS) and mixed by Unearths Ken Susi, Alive from the Apocalypse puts you on stage and behind the scenes with one of the most exciting and crucial bands in metal.
Heres what vocalist Trevor Phipps had to say about the bands first ever DVD release:
"This DVD is something we are all extremely proud of. It combines our live show with our story put out for the World to see. It is honest, real and complete from our start in 1998 to today. Nothing is left out as there is footage from shows and tours throughout our career to back stage happenings, interviews and commentary from some of our friends peers."

The DVD shoot was an amazing time thanks to Pomona, CA and the Glasshouse. You all sold out the venue early and a couple hundred people were left stranded outside. We could not have asked for more support from our So. Cal fans. Thank you to everyone who made the night such an awesome time for all.

Tickets are available to most of the shows still, but they are going fast so make sure to get them ahead of time or come early to the shows.
See you on the road,

UNEARTH TO FILM SHOW AT THE GLASSHOUSE
We will be filming our show at the Glasshouse in Pomona, CA on October 9th for an upcoming DVD!
We figured it was about time we shot a real DVD and what better place than the intimate Glasshouse? Ever since we first played there in 2002 we have loved the crowds and venue in every repeat visit. We couldn't be more stoked to return and get it on tape this time around. A high energy show and good times will be had by all on October 9th.
The live show will only be part of the DVD as we aim to make it a double disc with behind the scenes footage of us on tour, the band and crew backstage, hanging with the fans, rare studio footage, band, crew and special guest interviews, more live footage and pictures from our travels around the world and all of our videos. The DVD set will be a complete retrospective from our beginnings in the basement practice space in Winthrop, Massachusetts all the way up to present day as well as a look at what is in store for us as we approach a full decade of being Unearth.
If any of you have pictures or video you think will be a worthy addition to our DVD, please send an email to us at unearthdvd@gmail.com
till next time...

About the Band
Hailing from Massachusetts, the virtual metal and hardcore capital of North America, Unearth bring a refreshing sense of talent with charismatic riffs, thought provoking lyrics and pummeling breakdowns. Unearth masterfully combine an intoxicating mix of American and European metal with hardcore ethic and punch. This unique approach makes Unearth one of the most abrasive, commanding and emotionally charged groups in heavy music today.
Formed in 1998, Unearth has accomplished more on their own than most bands can do with full support of a label and press. Constant tours all over the globe have earned them respect and recognition from their peers and helped cultivate one of the strongest fan bases around. In the last two years alone, Unearth has embarked on a sold-out headlining tour with Terror, Black Dahlia Murder and Remembering Never in tow, a sold-out run alongside Atreyu, and high profile treks with Slipknot, Sounds Of The Underground 2005, The Headbanger's Ball tour and Ozzfest 2004 and 2006. Last summer, Unearth went overseas as a featured act on Sounds Of The Underground Europe, toured with Hatebreed in Europe and went to Australia and Japan with Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God. Currently, they are main support for metal icons Slayer and will follow that tour with a trek to Europe with label mates Job For A Cowboy. A notable highlight for the band is being one of the featured artists on the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie soundtrack.
The highly regarded release "III: In The Eyes Of Fire" was produced by the legendary Terry Date (Soundgarden, Pantera, Deftones) and should satisfy even their most hardcore of fans. While most bands these days seem to have replaced breakdowns with "pretty" choruses, Unearth have gone in the opposite direction delivering their most brutal album to date. This crushing follow up to 2004's "The Oncoming Storm", is sure to cause nothing less than total destruction to every mosh pit in its wake.
About UNEARTH and III: In The Eyes Of Fire
Countless bands have been inspired by the abundance of radio-friendly hooks and choruses surfacing in today's popular metalcore. Unearth are the exception. While other groups have been motivated to make their songs more commercial, Unearth have gone the opposite direction.
"A lot of our friends who used to be in kick-ass metal and hardcore bands are adding these pop choruses now for no reason," grumbles frontman Trevor Phipps. "I think they're making the same mistakes that all the bands in the early '90s made when metal turned to complete horseshit. They're totally watering down their tunes to sell more records. We're just trying to prove that bands can still sell records and tour and have a career by making a heavy fucking record."
III: In the Eyes of Fire isn't just heavy, it's downright brutal - a menacing combination of speed, precision and intensity that grips and shakes like a shark tearing apart its prey. Taking its cue from the most destructive offerings of Slayer, Pantera, Earth Crisis and Iron Maiden, the music is structurally complex, and emotionally furious. Album opener "This Glorious Nightmare" hits the ground running, stomping its vapid peers with razor-sharp cleats as unforgettable riffs meld with tumbling beats and voracious howls. After opening with a classical-style guitar harmony, "March of the mutes" plows into a series of menacing guitar rhythms and "Sanctity in Brothers" slays with angular licks and galloping drums that coalesce in a vortex of aggression and contempt.
"We tried to take our sound and move it one step forward," says guitarist Ken Susi. "We've always wanted to be the heaviest band out there and we're ready to tear people's heads off."
In addition to being fast and heavy, III: In the Eyes of Fire is also strikingly musical and surprisingly memorable. The songs are filled with rib-sticking riffs, colossal breakdowns and enticing guitar harmonies that never detract from the overall intensity of the songs. "We love Iron Maiden and we've always integrated those kinds of guitar harmonies," Susi says. "But when we did it before it was a little overwhelming and now it's just a subtlety. Now, we're just heavy, heavy metal and within that brutality, we have those touches."
One reason the record sounds so brutal is because it was recorded in an organic style without a click track. To help Unearth achieve the kind of raw ferocity they create in concert the band worked closely with producer Terry Date, who has previously worked with Pantera, Deftones and Soundgarden. "He was a fan of the band already, so it just worked and was a very happy marriage," Phipps says. "We flew to Seattle to record at Studio X, which was a different experience for us. We were used to recording with Adam D (Killswitch Engage) in Massachusetts, where we're from. This time, we were out of our home element and thrown into this whole new life, and I think that contributed to the feel of the record."
Unearth titled the album III: In The Eyes of Fire because they thought the name best reflected the challenges and obstacles that human beings confront on a daily basis. As with The Oncoming Storm, some of the tracks discuss global and domestic politics, but this time Phipps wanted to delve more deeply into the battles that rage in the mind and soul. "We all have problems as we walk through life, and I'm no exception," he explains. "So, this is more a personal reflection of myself and people in general that I think more listeners will be able to relate to."
