Typhoid Fever

Septembre 2003 can be marked as the beginning of the end of sound. A band was formed in the regiones of the Hoeksche Waard (near Rotterdam).

Two friends decided to start a chilling punkrock band. These guys went by the names of Cees Lodder (the drummer formally known as Kees with a K) and Marco (a pianist).
Well ofcourse did these mo-fo's realise that you can not get a punkrock band of the ground with just drum'n keys. So they started looking for some other idiots which also had too much spare time. They found their idiot in the master guitar player Tony.
On this point there was a drummer, a guitar player and a pianist.... not really clever for a punkrockband, right? They bombed Marco to be their lead singer.... and soon he kissed his piano farewell...
Still ther were some elements missing....like another guitar and ofcourse..a Base player!

Not long after these three morons played around a little, Eli came on their path. This second guitar player gave the band a feeling of completion. The Base problem was solved as soon as their singer realised he was the only one with two spare hands...

Now to give this quartet a name....They wanted something that could represent the emotion that hides behind their songs....Mostly negative emotions, like a scream for freedom, or...a scream for limitations. The lyrics follow the existentialistic philosopher Jean Paul Sartre (`the human being is condemned to live a free life` `We are doomed to wander useless`) as he wrote about issues that for a lot of teenagers are feelings they experience every day. Typhoid Fever tries to translate these feelings in energetic music with catchy lyrics, where the young ones can relate with.

Two and a half year later this band has already done more than they could ever have foreseen when they started this thing. Typhoid Fever has played on the radio, has been on tv, has played in de Gooth in Ridderkerk, in Dock 03 (Hendrik Ido Ambacht), in Exit (Rotterdam, battle for the ear of erasmus-winners), and so on.
