Two Hours Traffic doesnt pull any punches with their second full-length, Little Jabs (Bumstead Records). Joel Plaskett returns to the producers chair on Little Jabs, which packs a wallop with eleven captivating tracks that blur the line between folk rock and powerful pop. The video for their seasonal anthem, Stuck for the Summer, is currently in rotation on MuchMusic and the band is hitting the Trans-Canada to bring their unparalleled pop sensibilities to the masses. Unabashedly catchy and sincere, Two Hours Traffic is deservedly at the fore of the Canadian Maritime pop revival and Little Jabs will only solidify that position.
Two Hours Traffic began in 2003 when former kindergarten colleagues Liam Corcoran and Alec OHanley recruited fellow University of PEI chemistry students Andrew MacDonald and Derek Ellis. After the better part of a year, the group released an EP entitled The April Storm (Independent). This record caught the ear of acclaimed Halifax guitar hero Joel Plaskett, who immediately offered to produce the groups first full-length album. When not breaking Erlenmeyer flasks, the group managed to pen and record an anthemic eponymous full length album.
Recorded while the band was still in their teens, their second album Two Hours Traffic (Independent) recalls the eccentricity of The Cars and the immediacy of Big Star. People took to the songs without hesitation: Limelight fueled some hottub drama on The OC, Better Sorry Than Safe edged out indie-rock mainstays Broken Social Scene and The Constantines on CBC Radio 3's 2005 year-end list, and the album was nominated for Best Rock Recording at the 2006 East Coast Music Awards. While their debut full length album was a magnet for critical accolades, their peers began to take notice as well;
Two Hours Traffic toured Canada extensively with the likes of Wintersleep, The Joel Plaskett Emergency and The Golden Dogs.
The 2006 release of their second EP, Isolator (Independent), signified the bands arrival as accomplished songwriters. More critical acclaim followed and the disc received a 2007 ECMA nomination for Best Alternative Album. Two Hours Traffic has gladly left behind the ivory towers of higher education for less dignified pursuits.

hey everyone,
it may seem that we've been pretty quiet over the past month but fear not as we've been busy writing new songs. we're finally going to get a chance to unleash them too as we're leaving tomorrow en route to toronto, making stops in some of our favorite towns along the way. our best pals mardeen are going to be joining us on some of these shows, as well as toronto's the wooden sky and fellow maritimers, mercy the sexton.
and if you feel like updating your summer wardrobe, there should be some new TH-T-shirts available.
here's where we'll be landing:
09 May Quai des Brumes w/ Mardeen & Mercy the Sexton. Montreal, QC
10 May Chez Dagobert w/ Mardeen & Mercy the Sexton. Quebec City, QC
12 May Pepper Jack's w/ Mardeen, The Abbreviations and Mercy The Sexton Hamilton, ON
14 May Ebar w/ The Wooden Sky. Guelph, ON

hey gang
we've decided to try and provide some post-exam happiness to the nice people of fredericton and halifax this weekend with our collagen rock labelmates and all around thrill-hunks, the danks. we're really excited to have local rock n' roll sweethearts, the superfantastics along for the halifax show as well.
we've got three new tunes that we're eager to play and this seems like a good opportunity.
so, if you live in halifax or freddy beach and you've just finished school for the year (or you're getting close...), bring your text books and we'll let you burn them while we play. seriously.(not really)

We dropped by the Fuel 90.3 studios in Calgary, AB for a conversation with our pal Matt Schichter and to play stripped down versions of Jezebel, Close Up To Me and a new song I Did What I Could.
Listen to the interview here. Or you can just listen to the tunes...
