Turning 23 has been playing together for the past year, in various forms or fashions. Original members Josh Helmuth and Ollie Brown went through a grueling process in search of a bassist and drummer. In the fall of 2005, Matt Wujcik (of Us Featuring Him) joined with Ollie and Josh to create a fusion of sounds and styles that blend the pep of pop punk and their own brand of rock. The addition of drummer Forrest Perry completed the group in January 2006.

Drawing from influences as varied as Blink 182, Taking Back Sunday, 311, NoFX, Green Day, Hoobastank, New Found Glory and The Early November..., Turning23 strives for a unique blend of an upbeat, fun sound with a mature, no-holds-bard message. The members are just as diverse geographically as they are musically; Forest Perry of Daphne, AL, Ollie Brown of Birmingham, Josh Helmuth of Arthur, IL and Matt Wujcik of Montgomery, AL.The result is group of guys who really have a love for music and would probably play in your back yard if you asked them...
