ACOUSTIC EP - STUDIO UPDATE (02-26-08)

...so winter has officially taken over illinois. i think it snows here every other day. if it's not snow, it's some kind of precipitation, whether it be rain, sleet, hail, or some kind of falling ice. at least the snow plows are getting some work in. i think i saw about 23983 of them yesterday.
actually, now that i think about it, it was 23984 of them. sorry.
anyways, we have been back in the studio for more recording. this weekend we recorded at the oddest hours ever. mike tracked his vocals throughout the night on saturday and we finished at about 5:00 AM on sunday morning, which made for a sweet drive home after no sleep. driving when you're tired is like not having enough sleep and then having to drive somewhere. dunkin donuts coffee helps, though... sorta.
mike sang the night away like there was no tomorrow and his lead vocals turned out amazing. i tracked him in the vocal booth all night while mitch and rich watched knocked up, anchorman, and family guy for hours. i was jealous of them because i love family guy. it was a fun night.
we've been doing tons of other additional production aspects to the cd as well. we made some cool noises with our amps that gave us feedback that sounds like whales on an acid trip. it gives some parts of our songs a pretty cool feel.
we have a few more fun noises and random instrument parts to do as well as my vocals, which should be done this week sometime. what are we going to do next, you might ask? we're going to disney world. then we will mix, and then you will hear it. be excited. we're excited for you to hear it.
still no word yet on the EP release show... as the cd gets closer to being done, we'll let you know when and where it's going to happen. it's gonna be good, though... so you better be there. if not, you're a shape that is not circle. it's also not rectangle. do you know what shape you'd be?
hope all is well. stay warm - because if you're anywhere in illinois, you're probably either wet or cold. this state is good at doing things like that to people. winter is an odd time, folks... an odd time. don't drink and drive. we love you all. come to shows when we play them.
