TRANSIT is an indie modern rock band from Dallas, TX. TRANSIT consists of four members (guitar, keys-played by lead vocalist, bass and drums) who have performed together for eight years with another Dallas band that enjoyed regional success. The new band, TRANSIT began in the summer of 2003 when Chris Ray, an experienced stage and studio performer and music teacher, took over as lead vocalist, and lead songwriter. Since then, the group has been engaged in intense writing and planning. TRANSIT has had the opportunity to work with students at THE SEPTIEN VOCAL PRODUCTIONS in Dallas, where Chris Ray teaches voice with Jessica Simpsons voice coach, Linda Septien. They have performed at three Septien commercial showcases in 2003-04. In 2004, TRANSIT performed at TASTE ADDISON, one the largest gatherings in the DFW metroplex; other artists included BLONDIE and the B-52s. They were also chosen to perform for OPERATION ENDURING SUPPORT, a rally to support our armed forces; an event sponsored by the largest talk radio station in North Texas, 570 KLIF, and attended by over 1,000 people. This rally will also be aired on worldwide armed forces television. Favorite Dallas talk show personality, Darrel Ankarlo hosted. Chris wrote a new song especially for the occasion. Darrel and the station were very pleased, and have asked Transit to play for two Dallas Symphony events that KLIF is sponsoring. In the summer of 2004, TRANSIT has several shows lined up for clubs in deep ellum, including the CURTAIN CLUB, CLUB INDIGO and THE GALAXY club, as well as dates planned for Austin and other regional venues. Since starting their temporary website in March 2004. TRANSIT had over 1,000 hits by mid-May. Currently, TRANSIT is seeking the right producer to help complete a commercial demo, and following leads to gain national attention.
