Toward the Inside formed in late 2003 under the Name Fighting Fate. Fighting Fate consisted of Lee Tympanick on guitar, Joe Ristaino on drums, and Andrew Clifford on bass. After a few months, Nick Panu was added to the linup on second guitar along with Kyle Gautreu on drums, moving Joe to vocals. At this point, they decided to change their style of music from the softer pop punk to a deeper Progressive Hardcore, coined "ProgCore" by the band. The band will be going into the studio in early 2005 to record their EP.
