About The Band:

Taking the road less travelled, and avoiding the tired tirade of bandwagon jumping, This is a Standoff bring back punk rock sincerity with melodic vocals and killer licks.

After the demise of one of Canada's hardest working punk bands, Belvedere, Steve and Graham were set on starting a new project and getting back on the road. After joining forces with John from Ottawa's Forty Cent Fix, the guys gathered in Calgary, Alberta to write songs for their first album.

In November 2006, the band released two demo songs through their MySpace page, and released an overwhelming response from listeners worldwide. The lineup was finally rounded out by Corey (Deville) a few months later. The following April, This Is A Standoff hit the road, with a month long tour in Europe, sharing the stage with bands like Mad Caddies, Action Men, Big D and The Kids Table, and Boysetsfire.

Their highly anticipated debut album, Be Excited, hits stores October 9, and is currently available for pre-order through the band's website. The release will be followed by Canadian touring in October and November, and a trip back to Europe this coming March.
