Alternative / Punk / Rock
Originally an un-named band started in April 2006 by A Last Effort's Jess and Fernando Antelo along with their friend Chris Diaz. Later seeking a drummer, heads turned towards Felipe, a.k.a. "Fader." With a drummer in the line-up, the band began to write songs and some lyrics. During this time, the band searched for a singer that would fit their music style. Unfortunately the band could not find one as such. Eventually, the band just decided to keep it a 4-piece band, leaving Jess as the singer and playing guitar. More recently, guitarist and friend Chris had to leave the band for personal and family reasons, but left on good terms. They then asked Fernando's friend Javier if he was interested in playing, so he joined as the new lead guitarist. The band has done several shows, and already shared the stage with some nationally recognized bands such as We The Kings and Don't Die Cindy, and hope to accomplish more in the future.
THE MEMBERS
Jesus A.- Jesus was born in Puerto Rico. At the age of 9, he moved along with his brother Fernando to Florida. But it wouldn't be until he was two months away from his 16th birthday that he would finally be allowed to play guitar, when he got his first guitar. He quickly discovered that he had potential to be a vocalist, and while learning to play guitar, he developed his vocal skills even more. At age 17, he got his chance to really sing (not to mention write lyrics) with band A Last Effort. When the break-up of the band came a year later, Jesus had developed his skills as a musician and was ready to be an even better one with The Taxi Cabs.
Felipe L.- Otherwise known as Fader, was born in Brazil and moved to Florida when he was 12. When he grew tired of guitar, he started playing drums at 16. He's been in numerous music projects. He's into films, photography, long walks on the beach, on the grass, on the street, on the sidewalk, and even carpets. Tile is fine too. He's currently doing 10-20 for murder. He's also currently playing drums for The Taxi Cabs.
Fernando A. - Fernando was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He moved to Florida with his brother Jess when he was 6. Fernando enjoys listening to music, and also playing music. He not only plays the bass, but can also play the trumpet, the tuba, and the drums. Fernando started to play bass when he was 12 or 13. He left his bass alone for a while. He was asked to play bass for A Last Effort, so he started playing it again. Fernando stayed with A Last Effort for about a year. When A Last Effort ended, Fernando joined The Taxi Cabs as a full-time member.
Javier B. - Javier was born in Puerto Rico. Javier enjoys listening to music and playing pokemon. His favorite bands are the Mars Volta and Protest The Hero. He joined the Taxi Cabs when the ex-guitarist left. He is the best member of the Taxi Cabs as we can see in this interview with him: Interviewer: "Javier, who would you say is the best member of your band?" Javier: "Well, I think it's more than safe to say that it's me."
