What we thought was permanent was only temporary... As the great Bender from Futurama once said: "Yeah, we're back." So stay tuned, kids, there's a lot more to come! We have two shows booked so far and we'll be announcing them soon!

2 years in slumber was not enough to keep us down

Beginnings and Development (2006-2008)
Originally un-named, the band started in April 2006 by A Last Effort's Jesús and Fernando Antelo along with their friend Chris Diaz. Later seeking a drummer, heads turned towards Felipe, a.k.a. "Fader." With a drummer in the line-up, the band began to write songs and some lyrics. During this time, the band searched for a singer that would fit their music style. Unfortunately the band could not find one as such. Eventually, the band just decided to keep it a 4-piece band, leaving Jesús as the singer and playing guitar. In March 2007, guitarist and friend Chris had to leave the band for personal and family reasons, but left on good terms. They then asked Fernando's friend Javier if he was interested in playing, so he joined as the new lead guitarist. The band then recorded their first CD titled "Too Late to Strike Back," featuring 9 songs, most of which had been written the first couple of months that the band had first formed. The CD was released on October 12th 2007, and the band did several shows around South Florida to support it. However, by mid-November, drummer Felipe left the band to join a band that had more of a grindcore/hardcore style. By late December, Chris Oviedo joined as the band's permanent drummer.

Break-up (2008) and Rebirth (2010-present)
Unfortunately, by the summer of 2008, the band knew they each had to go their own ways. With each member going to a different college, they had no choice but to end the band. At that point, it was expected that The Taxi Cabs would never get together again as a permanent band. Late in December 2009, with the blessing of previous members, Jesús made plans to bring the band back with a new line-up of members for 2010. Original guitarist Chris Diaz joined the band once again. The band's only bassist Fernando Antelo rejoined for only the summer of 2010 before going back to college in the fall. Long-time friend Carlos Pita (Faded Sound, Neurotic November) took up the drums as the band's new drummer.
