THE SWORD is a colossal, high-energy powerhouse. Utilizing a potent combination of intense songwriting chemistry, eye-opening creativity and talent and a distinctly unique vision, THE SWORD is, without question, one of heavy musicâ€™s most electrifying new bands. Conceived in Austin, TX in 2003, THE SWORD took the form of a cohesive quartet in early 2004 when guitarist / singer J.D. Cronise, guitarist Kyle Shutt, bassist Bryan Richie, and drummer Trivett Wingo joined forces. Inspired by such legendary names as SLEEP, SLAYER and THE MELVINS, the four-piece immediately began to construct the songs that would soon comprise their initial demo recording.

u guys were fucking awesome i saw u guys when u came with trivium to tempe, arizona at the marquee theatre during the crusade tour, i loved yoru music and it kinda upsetted me the none of my other friends knew about u guys but when u started playing iron swan lol i was the only one on my side of the theatre fucking screaming and holding devil horns up in the air and headbanging but i wasnt embarrassed of it cuz u guys kicked ass and now all my friends know u guys kick ass so i wont be headbanging and screaming alone when i see u guys again in arizona Nov 28
