Australian Media Quotes

"One of the most exciting rock releases this year!" Beat Magazine.
"One of the sweetest summer jams in a long while!" Inpress Magazine.
"Absolute magic! They deserve to play the Big Day Out!" Indie Intiative.
"Look out world! The SUNS are coming" Bombshell Magazine.
"I've never seen an all ages show go off like that ever!" Jacknife Music.

Having spent the last two years conquering Australia, The SUNS (formerly known as the Boredphucks) return home for the first time since 2000 when they rocked the airwaves with the Straits Times Single Of The Year & 8 Days Song of the Year Zoe Tay and blew away critics and fans with the Straits Times Album Of The Year Banned In Da Singapura. Now with a newfound maturity, determination and a stunning live show refined from playing over 200 gigs all across Australia, The SUNS are set to shine all over again on their beloved Singapura.

When The SUNS first began circulating a modest home-made demo entitled ROCK shortly after establishing base in Melbourne in 2004, little did they know that it would sustain them for over a year and become one of Australias highest selling demos! ROCK consistently sold out at shows when awe-struck audiences demanded recorded versions of songs which they had just seen performed live on stage. Word about the three crazy Singaporeans who could rock your socks off began spreading, and in time The SUNS found themselves from playing small dining cafs to some of the largest rock clubs and arenas in Australia sharing the stage with bands as acclaimed as US rock legends Presidents of the USA, Canadas Crowned King, US punk veterans The Queers, Japanese punk rockers Mach Pelican and many other prominent Australian bands including the Spazzys and The Casanovas.

With the success of ROCK, The SUNS embarked on recording their first official Australian release in June 2005. The self-produced EP 2/20 (pronounced two twenty) was released in October 2005 to widespread acclaim. Boasting the epic opening track Lets Make Love (complete with a full horn section), the catchy single Charlene and a live take of the popular Bootiful Day among others, 2/20 is a bold and rebellious statement in the current wave of carbon-copy bands and trendy rock. Prominent Melbourne music publication Beat went so far as to proclaim it one of the most exciting Australian rock releases of the year.
