The Starving Artist
The man who calls himself the "Starving Artist" grew up in the talent filled but unnoticed town of Ocean City, Maryland. It was there that Brandon started his first band, Envy. The line up consisted of Brandon on Drums, and his close friends Brendan McGeehan on Bass, and Jamie Paul (of December Tragic) on Guitar and vocals. They were together for a while, and their writing and playing progressed and grew as they did. They played the best spots in OC, including the Greene Turtle and BrewMasters Pub, to name a few. Though they were together a long time, they were a practice band, and they were fine with that. The Band eventually stopped playing.
But that wasn't the end for Brandon. He was aching to play, and he started another project, called Down in Front. For this he wanted to showcase his abililty to play guitar and sing, and so he brought in his close friend Cla (of December Tragic) to play Drums, and asked Jamie to play Bass. This project was short lived, however, and Brandon was back to the drawing board.
Brandon and the guys thought they finally found what they wanted in Bass player Lee Griffith (of December Tragic). This time Brandon decided to focus on singing. The addition of Lee put Jamie back on guitar, and with the changes to the band came a change of the name. This new project was The Lunchbox Superheroes.
The line up was solid, but Brandon didn't feel like he could put enough time into it, so he left. The result was the forming of December Tragic. But Brandon still didn't feel like he was done.
Brandon went off to college, and found himself in an area that was more interested in indie music, so he decided to revive an old project; Down in Front. This time he asked his Cousin Tom to play Drums, and called on other friends from the DC area to fill in the rest. However, the constant travelling and practicing in DC put a strain on Brandon (and his wallet) and so after an Ocean City show, he put that name to rest.
For a while Brandon would fill in as a rythymn guitarist for December Tragic, and although they considered him for the band, they were a three piece, and that was the way it was meant to be.
Brandon wrote, and re-wrote, and wrote some more. He really wanted to play, but nothing was working for him. Then he got the idea. He was confident enough in his abilities that he decided to start a solo project called The Starving Artist. He would be the singer, Lead and Rythymn Guitarist, and Drummer. He would be the band. In the spring of 2004 he recorded his first three track EP entitled "Session One...". And in the summer of 2004, he called on a close friend to play Bass on his EP. That's right, it was Brendan McGeehan. And in late summer of 2004 Brandon got to play his first show with his best friends, Jamie, Cla, and Brendan, and got to show the world his music live for the first time...

It has been a year and a half since Brandon recorded "Session One..." at Valencia with Paul Leavitt, and he has since recorded two new demos. "Session One.Five", an acoustic demo, and "Session 2.0". Anyone interested in having all three can email him at CyrusOverswept@aol.com.
