The Standards

are an emo/alternative/indie band from Saranac Lake, NY, with a sound comparable to Death Cab for Cutie, Dashboard Confessional, and Weezer, born in 2004. Two years , over 50 shows, and 20+ original songs later, they've gained a following around New York State and other parts of New England. After being unhappy with the music scene in their area, they decided to change things and started writing music that people could sing and "get they groove thang on" to. The band has competed in six Battle of the Bands throughout upstate New York, and have come in first place in five, and second place only in one. They've put out three EP's independently, mixing and mastering in a bedroom with Apple's Garageband, and sold off every copy of all three. The band members include Spencer Brill, 18, who likes long walks on the beach, Andrew Wilson, 18, who enjoyed "Snakes On A Plane" more than anyone should, Paul Borst, 20, whose girlfriend makes him pluck and trim his eyebrows. The Standards are currently looking for a new drummer.
