i hear terms like "indefinite hiatus" a good amount in the music industry, and i never quite know what to make of them. they're often contrived phrases that really mean something else, so for better or for worse, let's not call this next phase by that name. that said, we're playing our final show in about a week. not a final show of a tour, not a final show before we hit the studio, not a final show before we move to the UK (i wish). a final show ever. we've had an absolutely amazing run over the past 5 years, and it's all due to your support. this band started playing chili peppers covers with no vocals and high hopes, and we've evolved into something completely different that you guys all accepted and sang along to. thank you for that; it means everything to us. as an audience, you far exceeded any expectations we've ever had. i can't express how much we've loved making the smyrk our lives, and how much we owe you for helping us get there. as a little gift, we're making our entire catalog available for download on our purevolume page for this week leading up to the show. when i say entire catalog, i mean all of it. stuff you've never heard, stuff we didn't want you to ever hear, stuff you'll cringe at. it'll all be there. we'll periodically check this myspace page after the show, but if you want to contact us individually, just use the links in the "band members" section. thank you for everything. -the smyrk ...the love you take is equal to the love you make.
