Determination is a key ingredient in The Shams along with raw emotion and young talent. After forming to play a local talent show, the band decided to keep on going. They draw inspiration from wide spectrum of sources, anywhere from Senses Fail and Beethoven to Ghengis Khan and the Crusades. The Shams strive to transport their listeners to epic battle fields or heart break in Standish, Maine. Their love of music (whatever kind it may be) keeps the door open to almost anything you could imagine. After 2 years of working hard they have forged a sound based around metal guitar riffs, emo lyrics, tight playing and classical ideas. They form a sound that is unique in its own way.
