All a formal education grants is an informal thrust into adulthood. The Scotland Yard Sale tell stories about people figuring out who they are; stories about friendships and lovers. They are songs about a generation delivered through driven ditties, sing-along choruses, and smart dynamics.

Based out of Austin, TX, The Scotland Yard Sale is made up of former students who came for the education and stayed for the scene. After only playing together for a few months, the band dove straight into the studio with random winnings allowed them to record a collection of stories that were delivered in the form of a demo EP called "Cityscapes" on May 1st, 2008.

As a result of hundreds of copies of the demo floating around Austin, fans flocked to their computers and voted The Scotland Yard Sale through five rounds in the Dell Lounge Sound and Jury contest that culminated with a Battle of the Bands at the famed Antone's club. Playing energetic shows with bands like ZlamDunk, Quiet Company, Meriweather, Driver F, and Cruiserweight has inspired TSYS to keep writing and recording through the second half of 2008. The band is entering the studio as soon as the new year arrives - in the meantime TSYS been playing shows non-stop, taking time out of their usual club shows to play benefit shows and even stop by some house parties, backyard concerts, rooftop performances, and the celebrated Stubb's to keep from being absorbed too much by one single scene.

With the anticipation of a full-length album burning strong at the beginning of 2009, and show after show bringing in new and passionate fans and friends, The Scotland Yard Sale has set out to prove that it doesn't suck to be young when you have something to say.
