TSP fans and friends.....

Hope you enjoy the 4 new tracks from the Upon Impact Promotional CD. Superhero, Crying Myself to Sleep, Jamie's Promise, and Illusion were recorded and mixed at the Chicago School of Music Studios. Accompanying these four new tracks are the demo versions of Tears (purevolume #1 hit) and Clarity (VH1 song of the year finalist).

Background of TSP.....

It began years ago.....being enamoured with music.....playing in bands doing cover songs of Def Leppard, Guns-n-Roses and a host of popular others. Our band Hustler was actually good. Maybe even good enough to make it. We had a boatload of talent, but at the time we were young and doing it for the fun reasons, not for the originality and/or purity of the music.

Today, things are different, but still the same. My Chemical Romance, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Fall Out Boy, and Cute Is What We Aim For are the new hot names of today. My attraction to their music is as strong as for those of the past and this, along with a personal episode, inspired me to begin to write my own music.

The birth of The Sarno Project.....

As I am recording original tracks and sharing them with my close friends for objective feedback, I needed a place for the vast majority to review my work...purevolume.com was the answer...I set up an account, put together a few promos...and we were off!

The first track, Jamies Promise (rock version), was well received in the summer of 06, but honestly, wasnt my best production-quality demo. Then came Tears during the fall of 06. Tears hit the top of the purevolume charts in its demo form.....a tremendous amount of positive feedback began to come in on this track, which catapulted me to write song after song for the next several months. From that point on, each demo track that was promoted was received as strong or stronger than its predecessor.

Then a defining moment came.....I received VH-1s Song of the Year Finalist honor with Clarity in 2007.

"Song of the Year is excited to recognize Michael for his exceptional songwriting ability for the rock song Clarity. Michael competed against thousands of songwriters from all over the world for this honor, being judged by the biggest names in music including many Grammy Award winners. When asked what the meaning behind the song is, Michael commented that Clarity is about being true to yourself and not changing because of outside influences or opinions. It is about doing the right thing, not because it is popular, but because it is the right thing to do...today and every day."

In 2008, the promotional CD was completed.....Upon Impact.....with the hit single "Superhero" poised for the Spiderman IV soundtrack.
