THE ROYAL WE

Formed three years ago as a means to actualize the music that all four members wanted to hear, The Royal We began playing shows in Minneapolis and St. Paul in the summer of 2002. After only a few shows, their innovative and complex songwriting combined with their tight live show generated a growing group of enthusiastic fans. Word began to spread, the number of fans continued to grow, and soon The Royal We found themselves playing weekend spots at some of the premier clubs throughout the Twin Cities area.
Drawing inspiration from a diverse group of bands, everything from The Grateful Dead to 311 to TOOL, The Royal We creates a fusion of heavy, hard rock guitar riffs and melodic vocals over a Pink Floyd-esque landscape. They capture both heavy and soft sounds without letting either dominate. With much of today’s music plagued by insincere negativity, materialism, and cliched angst, The Royal We strives to remain free from specific genre labelings, to create music that is innovative, positive, aggressive, and encompasses a variety of emotions
