Yeah yeah yeah, I know... I ain't been bloggin' much. Sue me!
So we played some super fun shows in the last month or so... San Diego was great, sold out & saw lots of my buddies... Los Angeles @ Troubadour was a sweaty sticky good time. I haven't played there since '94 with my old band Uncle Joe's Big Ol' Driver. We had a sweet showcase in front of a ton of label people & total blew it- got drunk, played covers & screwed around instead of doing the tight rock show that might have gotten us one step closer to fame & fortune... ha! All I remember from that gig is playing REO Speedwagon's "Take It On The Run" and completely messing up the verses... our attorney (coincidentally PUSA's longtime attorney as well) was there that night & his succinct & totally rhetorical question to me after the show was: "Usually you guys are a little more loose, right?"
Anyhoo... after the SoCal dates I hustled back to my tour bus bunk on a big ol Hendrix tribute tour (6 buses, two trailers & a ton of guitar players) that I'd been doing production management on... we did shows from the East Coast to the West Coast & I flew in and out getting the PUSA gigs done, the last of which were in Florida... which was a blast! The weather was really nice- no humidity, just solid 80* days & comfortable evenings... kinda the best. The House Of Blues in Orlando was an especially good show, but they were all lots of fun.
Its been a real long 5 weeks on the road for me, but I enjoyed it immensely... now I'm back home w/my family... making noodles & broccoli and re-learning how to use the Xbox!
