The story all started a little more than a year ago.

Two men from Mississauga, Ontario who were tired of the current music scene in their area set out to create a band that was different, and very experimental. After establishing an idea, and a song or two the guys needed a name. That very day after a shit in the woods, and a bath under a bridge...the men went to go see the movie, The Longest Yard with their good friend Jacob (aka Yacoob). When they went to the NY Fries within Famous Players, it started. The man ready to take their order was a mildly chubby big man named Phillip Neilson. As he approached the counter to take the order, the boys were afraid he was gonna have a crazy deep death metal/Ralph voice. Instead he ended up sounding gayer than Richard Simmons. Having to try their best not to laugh, they ordered poutine. After that day, they ended up using his name for the band...thus TPNP was born.

The two men talked about are Kyle (guitar, vox) and Chris (vox, bongos). Kyle and Chris are two 17 year olds in grade 12, they enjoy metal..only if its heavy, skate punk, as well any music that makes them wet, moshing, slamdancing, walls of death, walls of carnage, walls of gore, skanking, san frans, skateboarding, women, and flesh hunter 5.

Using their spontanious guitaring (even sometimes improved), to the blistering screams, soothing melodies, and their serious and occasionally funny lyrics, The Phillip Neilson Project is here to stay cool with the music scene in Mississauga!!!
