Big happenings for us these past few months.
1) If you couldn't already tell, we're no longer Figure It Out. Because we've decided that we wanted to write songs that were a different yet refreshing style, we figured a name change that better fit our sound was appropriate. We're now called The Pattern Traced if you couldn't figure it out (horrible pun intended) by now.
2) We also parted ways with our good friend and drummer Jon Andrews. Replacing him on the throne is Mike Feuerstein (ex-Stars Will Fall). He's a phenomenal drummer and definitely enhances our music to a great extent.
3) We're going to be recording an EP in the near future of all new previously unheard songs. We're aiming for 5-6 songs, and let me tell you, it's the best stuff we've wrote to date and it's only getting better. We're eager to get it out and available to you guys as soon as possible and we'll try to keep you up to speed with it's progress. Maybe video studio updates even to give you a little preview of what we have in store.
4) We're 99.9% positive that we won't be playing any shows for the rest of 2007. We really want to, but we decided that it'd be better for us to concentrate on getting the songs we want to record down as tight as possible so we can get the EP available as fast as possible. We don't want to have to rush writing songs between playing shows, school, work, and life's other aspects. That 0.1%? There is a slight chance we might do a show near the end of December. I'm hoping we can play a house party on New Year's Eve because nothing is more fun then ringing in the new year with rockin' music, beer, and good friends.
Well, that's basically everything in a nutshell. We'll try to get some kind of recording up as soon as possible to give you a taste of what we have in store. It may not be the highest quality but it'll do.
Have a good one,
James
