Hey, this is Tim. If you've managed to find this site, chances are you already know all you need to know about me. Probably far more, even. But, on the off chance you don't know me, here's a quick introduction.

Hi. I'm Tim Marshall. I play guitar (poorly). I sing (also poorly). Sometimes I play guitar and sing at the same time (even more poorly). I write and record my own music (once again, poorly in both cases). I live in Milton, Ontario.

Now that you know a little more about me and your expectations (and therefore disappointment potential) are somewhat reduced, I'll explain what the purpose of this page is. As far as the obvious goes, see the previous paragraph. This page exists mainly in case I write songs that aren't based on an acoustic and vocal arrangement.

For example, the song Torquemada, which I've already uploaded, was recorded in Chillicothe, Ohio at the Recording Workshop with fellow students Mike Huff and Josh Dexter. I wrote and played the guitar parts and lyrics/vocals, Mike played bass guitar and Josh played drums (kudos to both, I think they did an awesome job). Chances are I'll never perform this song in a live set unless a band I'm in decides to play it (speaking of which, check out my band's myspace) because a) I can't play guitar, bass, and drums all at the same time while singing (attempts to do so have met with bitter disappointment and moderate equipment damage) and b) it really wouldn't be the same unplugged and solo.

This also has a correlation with my Purevolume band name, The Other Tim Marshall. This is my 'other' stuff. Things I write that require more hands/vocal chords/etc. than I have to play that I feel bears posting anyway. (Of course, the actual reason for my listing name is just that Tim Marshall was already taken. If I ever start playing live shows, don't expect to see me billed as 'The Other Tim Marshall' unless I happen to play a show with another guy named Tim Marshall.) Most of my music, which is generally acoustic solo material, can be found at www.myspace.com/timmarshall2005. I hope you'll check it out, and thanks for taking the time to suffer my verbosity. Have a nice rest of the day.

You\'re much too harsh on yourself. The lyrics are great and the entire song is cohesive. Don\'t be shy to highlight your voice more without burying it under too many effects. Go for it! Dec 24
