THE NEW CITIES - 2011 After the resounding success of their 2009 debut album, Lost in City Lights, Montreal's The New Cities are heading back into the studio in early spring to making more great music. Known for their outrageously energetic live show, the band spent the past two years touring across Canada, the U.K., and France. Their hit single, "Dead End Countdown", reached Gold status and had them playing with the likes of Simple Plan, Marianas Trench, Metric and Katy Perry. Awards and accolades came pouring in; including a MuchMusic Video Award nomination, a JUNO Award nomination for New Group of the Year, and in songwriting with a SOCAN award. Melding elements of classic synth-pop to the power of dance and punk, their music has an intensely infectious sound, which has been featured on hit TV shows including Gossip Girl and Degrassi: The Next Generation.
