im sure by now many of you have seen the comments or heard the rumors that are going around, so to clear everything up, yes, we are breaking up for the simple fact that a couple of us are tired of not knowing what tomorrow brings. and The Motion is not The Motion unless all four of us are in it. so what now? well we're planning on recording a final album called, RETREAT! that will be a 5 song EP that includes all new songs. Do we hate each other? no we're all still good friends and respect everyones choices that we're having to make. Are we breaking up cause we went to jail? haha no, but that did totally suck. Are we playing a last show? yes we are, March 9th 2007 @ The Door in Fort Worth. and we're working on playing a final show in Cleburne, TX too because well thats the least we could do for our hometown.
Are we starting any new bands? since music is just a major part of all our lives, i wouldnt be surprised if we dont start something new. we'll let yall know if we do. oh and we're still selling copies of our last album, and we still have shirts for sale but they're running out quick. and seriously guys, the hoodies are badass so give some cash and we'll get you one.
i hate to have to end things like this, but its been a good time and Ill remember everything so im not regretting anything. thanks for all the support we've gotten from the bands and the fans over the few years we've been around, its meant a lot and wont be forgotten. seriously, thanks.
enjoy the music, keep listening.

"Spawned from the endless plains and shanty-towns of Texas, The Motion has taken two short but highly beneficial years to achieve their defining musical identity. Born in a garage in the small town of Cleburne, the boys went through a number of changes, following a continual timeline of musical influence and member changes. After what seemed like a handful of friends taking their roles behind the instruments, the original line-up was eventually brought to a conclusion. With guitarist Josh Jiles, bassist Lance Bennett and drummer Austen Roye, the trio began its journey to rock-n-roll by use of a number of tactics. Between shows the boys practically lived in the garage, perfecting some songs and throwing others away. By this time it was plain to see that their musical evolution had definitely moved on down the timeline, trading their innocent pop/punk sound for harder, heavier-hitting post-hardcore tunes. The children were getting older and more professional. What had started as a hobby had grown into what no man could deny as pure desire. And during this seemingly well-placed peak in their musical growth, the boys were split apart by un-amused parents, not to mention that wrecking ball we all know as high school. It was during this time that The Motion brought in guitarist Devon Gastineau, a hard rocking member of the very band at which The Motion had reformed. It seemed as though the story was complete, but there was still much work to be done. With months of fresh ideas and the talent of a new guitarist, The Motion went back to the drawing board, trading in the garage for a practice room at the Jiles' home in Cleburne. The boys had found their knack. Finding a happy medium between post-hardcore and rock-n-roll, The Motion played shows nearly every weekend, collecting money here and there as well as gaining new fans. With countless shows on their track record, it was time for The Motion to record more than just a demo. For this they headed into the studio to record four in-your-face rock tracks they called Volume 2. To the boys, this could simply be defined as a dream come true. It was everything the boys had aspired to sound like. The Motion is working hard, getting people's attention and hopefully, their respect. But even if they had nothing, at least they would have the satisfaction of knowing that they are on the right track toward where they want to be. They are four friends with the tendency to act like brothers, playing music in a rock-n-roll band, trying to make themselves known and if nothing else, escape what the elders have labeled as "sweet suburbia." The EP that came to be known as Volume 2 is what caught the attention of local indie label Nomad Records. When asked to play one of their shows, Jiles sent label owner Mike Ziemer all the tracks from Volume 2. Ziemer instantly fell in love with them and after seeing their impressive live show, asked them if they would be the first band on his new record label. What became of that is the CD you now have in your hands. This is the debut full length cd ATTACK! The record was recorded at Rockwell Audio in Fort Worth, TX by Geoff Rockwell. It is ten tracks that include a mix of southern rock 'n' roll, melodic rock, punk, and some signs of post hardcore. Unlike most bands right now, you wont hear about heartbreak on this record or catch the band wearing eyeliner. ATTACK! is 10 tracks about having the time of your life. Following the recording of their CD, The Motion hit the streets to film a video for the song "Picture Taker In A Plain White Tee" (which can be found on the band's MySpace page). Both The Motion and Nomad Records hope this is the CD that will bring these Texas boys the respect they deserve."
