Consumed by a common desire to create something truly timeless, the original lineup of SOCAN Award winning singer-songwriter Guy Abraham (guitar/piano/vocals), Alain Muller (bass), Saya Gahungu (violin) and Jamie Smythe (drums), set out to capture their epic sound and began recording in early 2006. The result is Hearts For City Limits.

Released on June 30th 2009, the long-awaited debut album offers up earnest songwriting with beautifully layered sounds. Soaring vocals, strings and keys combined with heart-pounding guitars, drums and bass are the foundations of this record. Songs of hope, longing and loss are all connected to HFCL's main themes of distance and salvation. The band's vision was achieved under the guidance of Gemini Award winning producer/engineer Norman Dugas (Leaderhouse, Daniel ROA) and with the mixing/mastering skills of Kyle Sierens (Sick City, Common Lives).

Making an appearance on the album are Sarah Dugas (The Duhks, Madrigaia) and violinist Dale Brown (Dust Rhinos) who has subsequently joined the band along with Rob Nicolas on guitar. Also contributing to new upcoming tracks are Christian Dugas (The Duhks, Leaderhouse) and Scott Senior (The Duhks, Moses Mayes).

Now with debut album in hand, The Mission Light has high hopes for the future and plan to bring their sonically-rich live show to fans across Canada in 2010.
