Members: Christopher Marinin, Rick Ksiazka, Elliot Barry, Chad Martin
Cleveland's Greatest Band of All Time.
Started as an acoustic project between Cleveland, Ohio and Tampa, Florida in 2008 by band founder Christopher Marinin (vocals, guitar) after spending years toiling in the "screamo" scene of the early 2000's with former band, who killed marilyn?; The Missing has evolved into an energetic hard rock band rounded out by Christopher's longtime friend Rick Ksiazka (bass); and Elliot Barry (lead guitar, vocals); Chad Martin (drums) of the former stoner rock band Space Goblin.
Since 2008, The Missing have indepently released three EP's, three LP's, and one live album; the most recent of which, "They Live" comes after a 5 year absence from recording. "They Live" is available on all major digital distro channels as of June 9, 2017 and was produced by noted metal engineer and musician Noah Buchanan of Brainchild Studios. The Missing were looking for a raw sound to capture the personality of their live shows and tracked the music live together in one room. "They Live" features 11 emotionally charged tracks that run the spectrum of genre's from ambient prog to post & pop punk. The mutual influences of QOTSA, ATDI, Nirvana, Faith No More, Led Zepplin, and Melvins shine through on this album which never seems to slow down or minimize thoughtful lyrics and driving rhythms. In the five years between 2012's "White Gold" and 2017's "They Live" The Missing had gone through a maturity and growing within themselves which shines through the album's themes. Christopher had faced his addiction demons and had gone sober in 2014, working alongside his long time bandmates in putting together an album they all left personal marks on. Elliot, Chad, and Rick had worked hard putting together music and writing songs with the intention of putting out another record while Christopher worked to get his personal demons in order. The outcome is the most powerful rock record to be released in the midwest in years.
