Over the years, The Misnomer has steadily grown an increasing national fan base with a combination of touring and phenomenal releases. This quartet from mainly Basingstoke Hants is becoming one the most promising bands in the U.K to date. Recent tours have included playing with Capdown, Appease, Phinius Gauge and Four foot fingers to name but a few. In 2000, The Misnomer released their debut EP Sticky Situation which took influences from all mainstream “pop-punk” bands of that time. After releasing further EP “Send to a Friend” and other various splits, appearances on more commercial compilations became more frequent, notably on “Helping you back to work Vol 7” (Lockjaw Records) and even on a backing track on a game that came with Playstation magazine. 2003 saw the band progress into more of their own style with the release of Send me a White Feather on Best Foot Forward Records which started the transition between “pop punk” and their own melodic rock. Since then the music tastes and the maturity of the band has meant that musical influences from all genres of music have come to the forefront of their song writing abilities. The Misnomer are currently in the studio working on their debut full length album which truly will cement the band their own style of music that they can call The Misnomer, due for release Fall 2005.
