Hey everyone.
We are very sad to officially announce Mark's final 2 shows. They will be this weekend in Portland, ME and Plaistow, NH. We are very sad that he is moving on to bigger and better things, but very excited for him to be pursuing what he loves most in life. He will be missed greatly on the road, but luckily he will still be a very large part of the band when we're home. Here is something he put down in words...
"Over the last 4 years Ive had the privilege of being a part of The Minus Scale.
We have traveled on 4 tours together, spent countless hours practicing and
recording, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. But I have come to a time in
my life where I have had to make a very tough decision. Ultimately, I have
decided that it is time that I leave the band to pursue a career in teaching
high school math. I would like to thank each and every member, both temporary
and permanent. The drummers, Tom, Bruce, Doug, Andy, Jessie, and Pat. The
original bassist, Greg. Our new keyboardist, Paddy. And of course, the
originals Ryan and AJ. Obviously, I could not have grown as a musician without
any of you. I would also like thank every band that I developed a relationship
with, played a show with, or spent a night on tour with. I wont list those
bands in fear of leaving one out. Thank you to my family, girlfriend Melissa,
and my friends for all the support theyve given to me. And of course thank you
to those who have ever come to our shows.
I will still be a part of team Minus Scale, though, and will not disappear never
to be heard from again. I will continue to be AJs brother. I will still screen
shirts, record demos, run sound, and give general support. My musical plans
include continuing my recording studio, starting a folk-rock band, and putting
on shows again. I love these guys and wish them the best. Guys: call me if you need
bail money."
We'll see you this weekend.
