The Miasmics are a 7-piece band from northern NJ. They play a catchy mix of ska, rock, funk & reggae that appeals to people of all ages. They have shared the stage with bands like The Slackers, Russel Batiste (of Vida Blue/The Funky Meters) Featuring Mike Gordon, Flogging Molly, Catch 22, The Toasters, Coolie Ranx, Big D & the Kids Table, Voodoo Glow Skulls, King Django, Westbound Train, Neville Staples of The Specials and many more. In 2003 they placed 2nd overall out of 192 bands to earn a top slot at the Skate & Surf Festival in Asbury Park, NJ, sharing the bill with bands like Andrew WK, Goldfinger, The Used, Reel Big Fish, Taking Back Sunday, Coheed & Cambria and many others. More recently, they were featured on a 4-disc Ska compilation entitled "Still Standing", which is receiving lots of good reviews and also features songs by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Buck-o-Nine, Forces of Evil, Westbound Train, Big D & the Kids Table, Let's Go Bowling and many others.
