E. E. Delrey is a Hip-Hop revolutionary from the streets of Queens. With an extremely diverse taste in music, and years of technical training on the piano, Delrey has begun to experiment, fusing the sounds of Jazz, Funk & Neo-Soul with Hip-Hop drum patterns, a sound most reminiscent of the solo works of Lauryn Hill. Every once in a while he also throws in live drumming and/or a touch of Rock & Roll (as can be heard in Lost in Translation). This experiment will conceive a new Hip-Hop sub-genre Delrey likes to call ACOUSTIC HIP-HOP, and as a result, his debut EP has been appropriately titled "Hip-Hop: The Acoustic EP". In the works as we speak, the EP will be a 4 track long preview of things to come. Be on the lookout...

The name E. E. Delrey is a representation of a few things. For one, the name is reminiscent of the great E. E. Cummings, signifying his strong influence from poetry. The name is also an acronym, with the E. E. standing for "Eclectic Emcee", and Delrey comes from the Spanish "del rey" which means "of the king". This is both a reference to Jesus Christ and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

When it comes to vocals, many would be quick to label Delrey as a rapper. However, because of the content of his lyrics and his influences, he prefers to be thought of as a poet/wordsmith. His over all message: originality and creativity in Hip-Hop have been reduced to a faded memory of days gone by, and it's about time we started to remember....
