Hello friends,
I'm pretty sure it's been months since I last posted as my blogging callouses have all but disappeared, so I'll try and catch you up on all the happenings at camp...
For the past couple of months we've been home in Portland hashing out new material for an upcoming full-length. While all hasn't been smooth sailing through calm waters, we've managed to come away with some new songs that we're all very excited about, two you'll be hearing at SXSW and other upcoming dates.
Last night was our first of many shows with Washington boys The Real You. Let me say - solid dudes. We're very much looking forward to spending the next week and half on the road with those guys. But I digress. Our lovely evening in Provo started off, appropriately enough, at a local pub where I am proud to announce that The Lives of Famous Men hold the new photo hunt record. We got acquainted with TRY and reacquainted with homies Mury, shared a few laughs, a few pints, and a few carefully rationed shots of Jameson. The show itself, despite a few tech diffs, was a success and a lot of fun.
Tomorrow we play Oklahoma City, then Dallas, a last minute show in Denton, and then onto the infamous SXSW Music Festival. On a more serious note, some of our good friends in Sequoyah Prep School, who were scheduled to play with us in OK City and Dallas, blew out a tire and flipped their trailer, leaving them holed up somewhere in Indiana. Luckily everyone is alright, but they've had to cancel the rest of their dates (we'll miss you boys - get back to SC safely).
For those of you that will be in Austin for SXSW, all of our shows will be free - you don't need a wristband to get in. We're playing with a ton of great bands, so hopefully we'll see a lot of you out - this is going to be a good week.
Dan
P.S.: The following things are awesome: mini carrots, The Flight of the Conchords, and that Aussie party boy from the Youtube video.

P.S. I know I'm behind the times, but anyone who hasn't seen the BBC show "Planet Earth" should go to the video store, form a neat and orderly line, and perform a rental transaction. That show is amazing.

Hello friends . . . it's been awhile since I've posted - my laptop was out of commission the entire tour on account of the sweltering heat in a van with malfunctioning AC. I just got word from the repair shop today that it didn't make it - a shame really, it had one day left until retirement. And although it was a sad ordeal removing old pictures and poetry from the hard drive, it gave me the push I needed to become an official Macintosh user. It was also refreshing to return to my moleskin notebook for my various writings . . .
So . . . where to begin? Tour was incredible. Over the six weeks we traveled the country we had the opportunity to play with some of the nicest, most genuine guys any of us have ever met. Both Youinseries and National Product have been so supportive of us during our fledgling state and we cannot thank either of them enough for their friendships. In addition, we played with countless locals that were very talented and most hospitable, so thank you to them.
As for now, it's looking like better things are just around the corner. While the rest of the guys are back in our hometown of Anchorage, Alaska visiting with family and friends, I am hanging out in Portland, reading a lot of early 20th century literature, biking every, day and spending time with the most beautiful person in the entire world. We have begun writing again and are preparing to enter the studio to record a second EP. We have a string of shows coming up in Anchorage with the likes of Seemless and Shiny Toy Guns. The video for "You're Everyone I Know Right Now" is up on both Youtube and our myspace page as of two days ago. We have also gotten word that we will be featured in October's issue of Alternative Press magazine as one of AP's "top 8 unsigned bands." A special thanks to our friend Katie for passing along our name. All and all, things are going well and we have everyone in our lives to thank. Cheers.
