Super Buddha/Charlie Nieland- 7 The Lions: Nice, casually cruel riffage at the service of some dark atmospheric pop. It's like Mudhoney heard Kid A and decided to cover "Can't you Hear Me Knockin". It's better than Wolfmother.
"I do like the rawness of 'The Lions' album [New Rise Of The Footsoldier]...I think all bands should be forced to have a list like that on their album just to prove that they have some musical credentials and that they've done their homework"
Jim Gellatly, BBC Radio: Jim Gellatlys New Music (podcast 76 2010)
-------------------------
"Judging by the line-up at their merch booth after their set, it was eviedent that the crowd was stoked with their performance"
Tanner Holthe, Beatroute, Live Music Review (on opening for Jet, Nov 2009)
-------------------------
"The Lions is the kind of good old-fashioned rock and roll band that doesn't get praised enough"
Alan Cho, FFWD Magazine, June 25 2009
In The Long Run could be the working class anthem of today. 4.5 Stars (Out of 5)
~Wildy Haskell, Wildy's World

They're local and they're fabulous...raw working man's rock 'n' roll.
~Charles Gunn, CBC Radio 1: Key of A interview
---------------------------------------------------------------
They're obviously channeling The Beatles without actually ripping them off.
And wait...did I hear a little Blues lick there too?
~Jeremiah Sutherland, BullFrogMusic Reviews
A highly entertaining interview on 'The Grind'... they don't hold much back!
~Jim Gellatly, XFM Scotland
---------------------------------------------------------------
...whoever says girls can't play drums is a chump! And this band is rock-solid proof.
I can see Constantines fans digging this album.
~Joni Sadler, CHUO Music Director

Wish you guys the best.
~Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, (check through our myspace comments to see this one!)
