Punk rock doesn't have to be narrow sonically. You can be a pain the ass but still play an acoustic guitar. Joe Strummer taught the world that. If you want to be The Ramones become yourself. The Ramones taught the world that. Irony is punk rock's great girft to the world. Ooohs and Ahhs and acoustic guitar, all the while talking about destruction.

Don't get in a band so you can talk and write about being in a band. A songwriter is dead once he starts writing about writing songs. You get on stage because you have an agenda. You don't get an agenda so you can get on stage. Don't reverse cause and effect.

Lyrics are the future of music, they have to be. The music itself has hit a peak, lyrics are still beneath a glass ceiling. They need some attention. Everybody can have a loud Les Paul, not everybody can write a good lyric. Try.

Music isn't dying, the world is dying. Everybody's living beneath a glass celing. We don't have the power that we could have, we don't have the freedom of movement, we don't have the freedom of expression. And that stuff is all based on perception. If you don't THINK you have the freedom of movement, then you don't partake in your ability to roam. THINKING you lack the ability to express yourself is the same thing as not possesing the ability to express yourself. Internal fascism is the same thing as external fascism. That what marketing and propaganda are there for. "They" outsource their fascism into the India of your mind. But only because we allow them to.

The Hypertonics are from New York City. The best thing about music is that if you think it's crappy then you can do something about it. Oh music sucks? Well grab a guitar and make it all better.
