The PV House officially kicked off last night with an amazing showcase curated by the folks at IHeartRadio. Should you have missed out on the fun due to excessive SXSW day celebrations, or simply because you’re taking in the festival’s buzz from home this year, we’ve got you covered. Allow these thirty glossy shots to act as your guide through the hype of a night which saw performances from T. Mills, ZZ Ward, K’NAAN, Dead Sara, and Foxy Shazam. We’re certain you’ll come away from them feeling as though you were part of the action — and, if you were part of that action, just think of them as souvenir shots to remember the night by.

SXSW: It’s hot, it’s loud, there are a million things you want to see but not enough hours in the day to do them. In a whirlwind week, it’s the little things that can really make or break your experience. This is why we decided to join forces with some our bands playing the PV House to list the items we know we packed in our suitcases. Some of the advice is more practical, some we hope is a joke (ahem, Superhumanoids), but with many years of collective South By-ing under our belts, you’d be advised to heed at least some of our wisdom.

PureVolume will be invading South By Southwest on Monday, and we couldn’t be more excited. Not only will we be hosting the PureVolume House and all of the incredible shows taking place at all hours within it, but we’ll also be roaming the streets checking out some of the bands that have been electrifying our headphones over the past couple of months (and hopefully discovering some things we don’t even know about yet). Of course we are most excited to see the bands playing at our own party on Saturday night, but there are also a whole mess of other bands we can’t wait to see. Each year, thousands of people stream to Austin, Tx. for what is essentially one sprawling hipster spring break — ten days of day parties, late-night showcases, beer, BBQ and bad decisions. It’s the South By Southwest festival, and as part of our kickoff coverage, we’ve collected a fantastic collection of images showing the tragically hip (and/or hopeless) attendees in action.
