What was the most important lesson you learned from your previous South By experiences? Are you looking forward to doing anything differently?: The most important lesson? Don’t drink tequila all day long, stumble into the wrong Hilton hotel (there are two within a few blocks), sit down at the piano shirtless at 3AM, then refuse to stop playing when a security guard asks you to kindly leave. They WILL toss you to the ground, put you in an arm bar and throw you in jail. We’re definitely looking forward to not involving the cops this year! Throws a wrench in the ol’ party vibe. Our goal is to put on some memorable live shows and enjoy the beautiful city and people of Austin!
What’s been your biggest accomplishment as a band so far?: Waking up in the morning and doing what we love to do, everyday. There’s nothing better. We feel extremely fortunate that we’ve been able to form a band with our closest friends. The rewards are endless.
What’s on the horizon after Austin?: After Austin we’re heading back into the studio to finish recording and mixing our album. We’re so close! Once the album’s done we’re planning on hitting the road. Ah, the open road — can’t wait.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten about South By Southwest so far?: Enjoy every minute! Go ramble around the scenic city, feast on their delicious Tex-Mex, get drunk and hop on the bike carriages, see as many new live bands as you can, and absorb the party! It’s a pretty unforgettable week.
What’s the most important thing you’re packing in your suitcase?: Mariah Carey’s album The Emancipation of Mimi. That shit fires me up! Honestly — a toothbrush. Southern girls like them pearly whites!
